Tewa Language

Ohkay Owingeh recognizes the need to increase the level of fluency among the community when it comes to the Tewa Language. The Ohkay Owingeh Tewa Language Program offers weekly classes three times a week for 2-3 hours a session to address the need to increase the Tewa Language being spoken through out the community. Average nightly attendance per class ranges from 10-15 community members. The classes cover a variety of subjects as well as retreat trips to culturally relevant locations.
